Description
Wool and silk tapestry showing Beatrix Soetkens in her bed, part of a four-piece set depicting the Legend of Our Lady of the Sands. Beatrix's bedroom is rendered with meticulous attention to detail, from the pattens, or clogs, discarded beside the bed, to the chamber pot balanced on the bed’s wooden step. She has been surprised by an angel, who hovers at the side of the bed. Part of the Burrell Collection.
